We are a team of economists, political scientists and lawyers from the Centre of Economic Integration (CTEI) of the Geneva Graduate Institute. In this multiyear, interdisciplinary research project, we endeavour to uncover new instruments and ways to design trade policy with minimal negative effects.
We are doing so by looking at positive and negative effects of trade liberalisation in order to better understand the complexity of structural adjustment following trade liberalisation and the many unwanted negative effects of trade on the environment and labour. By thinking trade liberalisation and flanking measures together, we believe that we can achieve trade agreements that truly work in the service of society.
